Ryan McIntosh, Founder & Chief
Ryan is a 2nd-time climate tech founder with wide ranging experience in both business and technology domains across several industries including carbon removal, energy and sustainable transportation.
Prior to Cedar, in Ryan’s last founding role at RoadPower Systems – an energy recovery & clean power generation startup – He lead the discovery & market validation efforts, raised a pre-seed venture funding round, lead the design & development of the technology, signed up multiple early-adopter customers and successfully deployed a multi-phase customer pilot that attracted national press. Ryan also lead the company through an M&A process that advanced through due diligence with several publicly-traded companies in the climate tech and transportation spaces.
He’s designed, built and has IP/patents pending across engineered carbon removal/capture systems, kinetic energy recovery systems (KERS), hybrid energy storage (incl. flywheels, super capacitors, and lithium ion batteries), clean power generation, vehicle-to-grid, novel power transmission systems, hydraulic systems, EV powertrain and suspension, adaptive regenerative braking systems, control systems for the above, robotic systems and more.
His strengths are in creative problem solving, mechanical & process design, rapid prototyping, product development, technology commercialization, product management, and program/project management.
